PINBOX CORE — LIMITED WARRANTY & TERMS OF USE

At PINBOX, we make products to store, protect and perform.

PinBox Core is built to be durable, practical and ready for everyday use. We stand behind the quality of the product and want you to know exactly what is covered, how to use it properly and what to do if something goes wrong.

1. OUR 12-MONTH LIMITED WARRANTY

PinBox Core is covered by a 12-month limited warranty from the original date of purchase.

This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that occur during normal, intended use.

Where a manufacturing defect is confirmed during the warranty period, PINBOX will, at its discretion and subject to applicable law, repair or replace the affected product or component.

This warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

This limited warranty is provided in addition to any rights you may have under applicable South African consumer protection legislation.

2. WHAT’S COVERED

The PINBOX warranty covers manufacturing defects including:

  • Defects in materials or workmanship.
  • Faulty construction or assembly.
  • Hinges, latches or handles that fail because of a manufacturing defect.
  • Defects in permanently integrated cooling components.
  • Structural failure occurring during normal, intended use.

If something doesn’t seem right with your PinBox Core, tell us. We’ll assess the issue and determine the appropriate solution.

3. WHAT’S NOT COVERED

The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

  • Accidents, drops, impacts or crushing.
  • Misuse, abuse or neglect.
  • Deliberate damage.
  • Unauthorised modifications, alterations or repairs.
  • Improper cleaning or exposure to harsh chemicals.
  • Exposure to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
  • Normal wear and tear from regular use.
  • Cosmetic marks or imperfections that do not affect the functionality of the product.
  • Use outside the intended purpose of PinBox Core.
  • Damage caused by improper storage, handling or transport.

Where a problem results from misuse, accidental damage or another circumstance outside the scope of the warranty, the claim may not be covered.

Nothing in this warranty limits any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

4. A NOTE ABOUT 3D PRINTING

PinBox Core is manufactured using high-quality 3D printing technology.

3D printing is part of what makes the PINBOX manufacturing process possible, but it also means that individual products may have subtle differences in their surface finish.

You may notice things such as:

  • Minor layer lines.
  • Slight variations in surface texture.
  • Small surface marks.
  • Minor manufacturing blemishes.
  • Subtle differences between individual products.

These characteristics are a normal part of the manufacturing process and do not necessarily indicate a defect.

Basically: it’s made, not moulded.

Minor cosmetic variations that do not affect the structure, performance or functionality of PinBox Core are therefore not considered warranty defects.

As PINBOX evolves, we may improve materials, finishes or manufacturing processes from time to time.

5. USING PINBOX CORE PROPERLY

PinBox Core is designed to provide a protected, organised and cooler storage environment when used correctly.

The integrated passive cooling system is designed to help maintain cooler conditions. PinBox Core is not a powered refrigerator or freezer and does not actively cool its contents.

For best performance:

  • Keep PinBox Core refrigerated when the cooling system needs to be chilled and ready for use.
  • Ensure the integrated cooling components are properly chilled before use.
  • Keep the lid closed whenever possible.
  • Keep PinBox Core away from direct sunlight and other heat sources.
  • Do not leave PinBox Core inside a vehicle or other high-temperature environment.
  • Do not expose the product to temperatures or conditions outside its intended use.
  • Follow the storage requirements of the manufacturer of anything you choose to store inside PinBox Core.

The cooling performance of PinBox Core will depend on factors such as starting temperature, ambient temperature, how often the case is opened and the conditions in which it is used.

PINBOX Core is designed to assist with temperature management. It is not a temperature-controlled device.

6. STORAGE & CONTENTS

PinBox Core is a storage and organisation product.

You are responsible for ensuring that anything stored inside PinBox Core is suitable for the conditions in which it is being stored and transported.

Where another manufacturer’s product is stored inside PinBox Core, you remain responsible for following that manufacturer’s storage requirements, handling instructions and warnings.

PINBOX does not guarantee that PinBox Core will maintain a particular temperature for a particular period of time or that it will be suitable for every possible storage application.

Store smart. Know what you’re storing.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

PinBox Core is designed to help keep your essentials organised, protected and ready.

While we design and manufacture the product with care, PINBOX cannot guarantee a specific internal temperature, cooling duration or outcome under every possible environmental condition.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, PINBOX is not responsible for loss or damage resulting from:

  • Incorrect use of PinBox Core.
  • Incorrect storage or handling of the contents.
  • Failure to follow the manufacturer’s storage requirements for stored products.
  • Exposure to excessive heat, sunlight or other environmental conditions outside the intended use of the product.
  • Damage caused by accidents, misuse or unauthorised modification.
  • Indirect or consequential loss arising from circumstances outside PINBOX’s reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by law.

8. MAKING A WARRANTY CLAIM

Something not right with your PinBox Core?

Get in touch.

To help us assess your claim, we may ask you to provide:

  • Proof of purchase.
  • A description of the issue.
  • Photographs or video showing the problem.
  • Additional information about how the product was being used.
  • The product itself for inspection, where reasonably required.

Please do not send your product back without contacting us first.

PINBOX may inspect the product before determining whether the issue is covered by this warranty.

If the issue is confirmed to be a manufacturing defect covered by the warranty, we will determine the appropriate remedy in accordance with this warranty and applicable law.

9. CONSUMER RIGHTS

This limited warranty gives you additional protection and does not replace your rights under applicable South African consumer protection legislation.

PINBOX recognises the rights of consumers under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and other applicable laws.

Nothing in this warranty is intended to:

  • Exclude a right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
  • Waive a statutory consumer right.
  • Limit our obligations where the law does not permit us to do so.
  • Prevent you from exercising any rights available to you under applicable consumer protection legislation.

If there is any conflict between these warranty terms and a mandatory legal right, the applicable law will take precedence.

10. THE SIMPLE VERSION

PinBox Core is built to be used.

Treat it properly, use it for its intended purpose and follow the care and storage guidance, and we’ll stand behind the product.

If something goes wrong because of a manufacturing defect, we want to know about it and we’ll work with you to put it right.
