Welcome to PINBOX.

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the PINBOX website and your purchase of products from PINBOX (PTY) LTD through our online store.

By accessing or using this website, creating an account, placing an order or purchasing a product from PINBOX, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with these Terms & Conditions, please do not use the website or place an order.

1. About PINBOX

This website is operated by PINBOX (PTY) LTD, a company registered in the Republic of South Africa.

Throughout these Terms & Conditions, “PINBOX”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to PINBOX (PTY) LTD.

“You”, “your” and “customer” refer to the person accessing the website or purchasing products from us.

Our contact details and company information will be displayed on the website and may also appear on your order confirmation.

2. Using the PINBOX website

You may use this website for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

You agree not to:

  • use the website for any unlawful purpose;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its systems or another customer’s information;
  • interfere with the operation or security of the website;
  • introduce malicious code, viruses or other harmful material;
  • copy, reproduce, modify or commercially exploit PINBOX content without our written permission; or
  • use information obtained from the website to impersonate PINBOX or mislead others.

We reserve the right to suspend or restrict access to the website where reasonably necessary to protect the website, our business, our customers or other users.

3. Products

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, specifications and other information on the website are accurate and up to date.

Product images are provided for illustrative purposes. Actual colours may vary depending on your screen, device and lighting conditions.

Product availability is subject to stock.

Where a product becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact you and provide an appropriate resolution in accordance with applicable law.

PINBOX products are designed and sold for their stated intended purpose. Customers are responsible for using products appropriately and following any instructions or warnings supplied with the product.

4. Product information and responsibility

PINBOX products are designed to help you store, protect and organise the small things that matter.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, PINBOX products are storage and organisation products. They should not be interpreted as providing medical, pharmaceutical, clinical or professional advice.

Where a product is used to store another manufacturer’s product, the customer remains responsible for following that manufacturer’s instructions, storage requirements, warnings and directions.

PINBOX does not guarantee that a PINBOX product will be suitable for every possible storage application.

5. Prices

All prices displayed on the website are in South African Rand (ZAR) unless stated otherwise.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that pricing information is accurate.

Prices may change from time to time. Any price change will not affect an order that has already been accepted and paid for, except where an obvious pricing error has occurred.

Where applicable, delivery charges and other additional costs will be displayed before you complete your purchase.

6. Orders

When you place an order through the website, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products.

After placing an order, you should receive an electronic acknowledgement confirming that we have received your order.

An order acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:

  • a product is unavailable;
  • there has been an obvious pricing or product-description error;
  • we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unauthorised activity;
  • payment cannot be successfully processed; or
  • circumstances outside our reasonable control prevent fulfilment.

If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will arrange an appropriate refund.

7. Payment

Payment must be made using one of the payment methods made available through the PINBOX website.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment service providers. PINBOX does not ordinarily receive or store your full payment-card details.

You agree to provide accurate and complete information required to process your order.

An order will only be processed once the required payment has been successfully authorised or received.

8. Delivery

We deliver products according to the delivery options and locations made available at checkout.

Delivery charges, available delivery methods and estimated delivery times will be communicated on the website or during checkout.

Estimated delivery times are estimates and may be affected by courier delays, public holidays, weather, operational disruptions or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and contact information.

More information is available on our Shipping & Delivery page.

9. Returns, refunds and defective products

Our Returns & Refunds policy explains how returns, refunds, exchanges and product-related complaints are handled.

Nothing in our returns policy or these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or limit any rights you have under applicable South African consumer law.

Where a product is defective, unsafe, of unacceptable quality, not reasonably suitable for its intended purpose or otherwise fails to meet applicable legal requirements, your statutory rights may apply.

More information is available on our Returns & Refunds page.

10. Consumer rights

PINBOX respects the rights of consumers under applicable South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to:

  • exclude a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded;
  • waive a statutory consumer right;
  • limit our liability where the law does not permit such limitation; or
  • require you to accept terms that are inconsistent with applicable consumer protection legislation.

The CPA establishes national standards for consumer protection and fair marketplace practices in South Africa.

11. Electronic communications

When you use the website, place an order, submit a form or communicate with PINBOX electronically, you consent to receiving electronic communications relating to your transaction or interaction with us.

These may include:

  • order confirmations;
  • payment confirmations;
  • delivery updates;
  • account notifications;

12. Website content and intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the PINBOX name, logo, branding, photographs, graphics, product descriptions, written content, layouts and other website materials are owned by or licensed to PINBOX (PTY) LTD.

You may access and use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, sell, license or commercially exploit PINBOX content without our prior written permission.

You may share links to PINBOX pages provided that doing so does not falsely imply an endorsement, partnership or affiliation with PINBOX.

13. The Prep and other editorial content

PINBOX may publish articles, guides, opinions, stories and other content through The Prep and other areas of the website.

This content is provided for general informational and educational purposes.

Although we aim to provide useful, accurate and relevant information, editorial content may contain opinions or information that changes over time.

You should use your own judgement and, where appropriate, obtain advice from an appropriately qualified professional before acting on information that may have professional, financial, legal, health or safety implications.

14. Links to third-party websites

The PINBOX website may contain links to websites, products or services operated by third parties.

These links are provided for convenience or information.

PINBOX does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices or terms.

Your use of a third-party website is subject to that third party’s own terms and policies.

15. Accounts

Certain website functions may allow you to create a customer account.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through your account.

You agree to provide accurate information and to update it where necessary.

If you believe that your account has been accessed without your permission, please contact PINBOX as soon as reasonably possible.

PINBOX reserves the right to suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary, including in cases of suspected fraud, misuse or violation of these Terms & Conditions.

16. Privacy and personal information

PINBOX respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable South African data-protection law.

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it and the rights available to you.

By using the website, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review our Privacy Policy.

17. Website availability

We aim to keep the PINBOX website available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted, error-free or available.

The website may occasionally be unavailable because of:

  • maintenance;
  • updates;
  • hosting or network problems;
  • security incidents;
  • technical failures; or
  • circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may modify, suspend or discontinue parts of the website where reasonably necessary.

18. Errors and corrections

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information on the website is accurate.

However, errors may occasionally occur, including typographical errors, incorrect prices, product information or availability.

Where an obvious error has occurred, PINBOX reserves the right to correct the error and, where appropriate, contact affected customers before processing or fulfilling an order.

Nothing in this clause limits any rights you may have under applicable law.

19. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, PINBOX will not be responsible for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable or that arise from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

20. Events outside our reasonable control

PINBOX will not be responsible for delay or failure to perform an obligation where the delay or failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

This may include events such as:

  • natural disasters;
  • extreme weather;
  • civil unrest;
  • strikes or industrial action;
  • interruption of transport networks;
  • internet or telecommunications failures;
  • courier disruptions;
  • government action;
  • power failures;
  • cyber incidents; or
  • other events that could not reasonably have been prevented or anticipated.

Where such an event occurs, we will take reasonable steps to minimise its impact.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The latest version will be published on this website and will include the date on which it was last updated.

Changes will generally apply from the date of publication and will not retrospectively remove rights that have already accrued to a customer.

22. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any dispute will be dealt with in accordance with applicable South African law and, where applicable, the consumer-protection and dispute-resolution mechanisms available to consumers.
